About Us


Forest Hills Pet Care is a locally owned and operated, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor pet hotel facilities with outdoor walking areas.


At Forest Hills Pet Care we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.


Our Doctors

Dr. Charles Gold 

Dr. Charles Gold graduated in 1985 from Iowa State University with his degree in veterinary medicine.  

After graduation, Dr. Gold moved back to Utah and began practicing veterinary medicine at Forest Hills Pet Care. Since 1985, he has helped thousands of animals and enjoys providing optimal care to each and every one.




Dr. Clytee Gold 

Dr. Clytee Gold graduated in 1983 from Iowa State University with her degree in veterinary medicine.  Originally from Nebraska, she is now happy to call Utah home.  Dr. Clytee's areas of interest include soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

Dr. Charles and Clytee Gold reside in Holladay with their dog Ditto. They are the proud parents of three daughters, three grandsons, and three granddaughters.

1. Do I need to have an appointment?

Yes, patients are seen by appointment only.


2. What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, American Express, Mastercard, Discover, and Visa


3. Can I make payments?

Payment is required at the time of service. We do not offer payment plans.


4. At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered?

Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. But can be done as early as 4 months old.


5.  What is the pre-anesthetic blood screening?

This is a blood test that is run here in the clinic prior to surgery. It tests the organ functions, blood counts and clotting function of your pet. The pre-anesthetic blood screening is done to assure safety during surgery and the ability to heal following surgery.


6. How long do the sutures stay in after my pet's surgery?

Procedures involving sutures require them to be removed in 7 to 10 days following the surgery.


7.  Is it a good idea to let my pet have at least one litter?

No, there is no advantage to letting your pet have one litter. However there are plenty of advantages to having your pet spayed or neutered. These advantages include decreasing the chances of mammory tumors later in life, decreasing the chance of cystic ovaries and uterine infections later in life, decreasing the desire to roam the neighborhood, decreasing the incidence of prostate cancer later in life, helping prevent spraying and marking, and also decreases the surplus of unwanted puppies and kittens.


8.  Do you have a pet hotel?

Yes, we do pet hotel stays for our clients. We have hotel rooms for both dogs and cats. For both cats and dogs the vaccines have to be current to stay in our pet hotel. If you would like to know more information and or a tour of our hotel facilities please give us a call or show up after 10am Monday thru Friday. ( Before 10am we are busy doing the morning cleaning of the hotel and taking care of the furry friends to make them happy and our facility clean ).

9.  What is your pet hotel like?

Our dog hotel is all indoor and temperature controlled. The dogs are walked 3 times a day while they are staying in our hotel. The cats are housed in a separate area away from the dogs, their facilities are also indoors and temperature controlled. Blankets and food are provided for all our hotel guests, but you are always welcome to bring your own.
